As the Council will be competing in the private rental market, is there is not a requirement that requires Lambeth to not to have an anti-competitive advantage over other private rental landlords? Would not transferring land on the cheap to the SPV be anti-competitive, particularly if it is going to be majority used for private sale/private rental?
Homes for Lambeth will operate as any other company within the economic market place. In establishing Homes for Lambeth, consideration has been given to ensure that it is compliant with 'state aid' rules.
