This Monday (25th April) a presentation was given to members of Tenants and Leaseholders Council to update them on Homes for Lambeth. This joint meeting was held at the request of the Chairs of Tenants’ and Leaseholders’ Council.
Faced with a lack of money for refurbishment and a serious shortage of genuinely affordable homes, Lambeth Council is taking a lead in bold, but necessary, decisions like setting up Homes for Lambeth as this will allow the Council to build homes for council rent, intermediate rent and private rent, all with long tenancies and rent stability.Read more

The Council is doing all it can to build the more and better homes we desperately need in the borough. This includes projects like Somerleyton Road, Akerman Road right through to the regeneration of low density estates which were built to meet the needs of the borough in the 1960s and 1970s, which the Council can't afford to refurbish and often don’t meet the needs of many overcrowded families.Read more

Over the next few weeks you may notice people on the estate carrying out inspections. This is because the Council is commissioning surveys to be carried out on the estate ahead of works that will happen as a part of the regeneration of the estate.Read more
Yesterday (the 21st of March) the Council’s Cabinet met to discuss the proposed redevelopment of the Cressingham Gardens Estate and it resolved that option 5 will be taken forward.Read more
