A community event was on Saturday 15th August held in the gardens of the Hemans Estate between Hunter and Darlington Houses.
Local residents met with councillors (Alex Bigham and Imogen Walker) along with regeneration officers from the council and architects Bell Phillips to discuss proposals to build new affordable housing on the estate. There was an opportunity to view a scale model of the proposed development and discuss options to provide a new community hall, landscaping and security improvements to the estate.
The event was attended by around 50 residents and supported by the Hemans Voice - Hemans Estate Tenants and Residents Association (TRA) who are working with the council on the proposals. As well as discussing the development proposals there was also food, music, face-painting and balloon sculptures with the TRA providing opportunities for residents to meet and discuss community issues
